Cornelia Frances hosted the Australian version of the Weakest Link from 2001 to 2002 for the Seven Network. Cornelia was also an actress from 1959 to 2017, she was also known for her role of playing nurse Sister/Matron Grace Scott on The Young Doctors.
Cornelia Frances's role as hostess on "Weakest Link" made her widely known as one of the most nasty woman of Channel 7 in the early 2000's, famously berating the contestants at every possible opportunity. Cornelia's role also made her become the first-ever female to host a game show in Australia. Rumors even claim that her attitude was even worse than the original UK host, Anne Robinson. After all of the insults and rude commentary, the show was one of many other international versions to be criticized for encouraging students to bully their peers.
In later life, Cornelia had published her own autobiography in 2003, and had joined the Australian Orangutan Project (AOP) to raise awareness about the endangered orangutans. Tragedy struck when Cornelia was diagnosed with bladder cancer in January 2018, and passed away only four months later on the 28th of May, 2018. She was only 77 years old.
