Weakest Link was the Irish version based on the Weakest Link hosted by Eamon Dunphy that aired for one series on TV3 from September 17, 2001, until early 2002. This series had a top prize of €10,000.
When Irish television station TV3 adapted the format in September 2001, chosen presenter Eamon Dunphy became the first male disciplinarian to present the program internationally. This would be weeks before the late Andrei Gheorghe (Romania) became the second male disciplinarian to host the program in Romania on October 13, 2001.
After the show completed its first series six months after premiering in 2002, TV 3 was unable to find new sponsors to commission a second series. This resulted in the show's cancellation in July 2002.
