Weakest Link zhizhe shengcun (Chinese mandarin: 智者生存, pinyin: zhìzhě shēngcún, literally: Survival of the Wise) was the Taiwanese version based on the Weakest Link. It was hosted by Belle Yu and later Ceng Yang Qing that aired for one series on STAR Chinese Channel from October 22, 2001, until 2002. This series had a top prize of NT$320,000.
This series aired two specials during its run, presented by Ceng Yang Qing. The first special featured eight television personalities playing for a children's charity. The second special featured contestants from a now defunct Taiwanese music group called the Betel Nut Girls (檳榔辣妹).
The series ended after 27 episodes in 2002 due to the costs of copyright.
Trivia[]
- During the show's earliest episodes, the studio had primetime-style podiums based off the American version but were replaced with daytime-style podiums later into the series.
- During the early 2000s, the Taiwanese version was the only version that had the presenter open the show with a short monologue, which would become a part of the franchise's newer format 20 years later.
